About Me
Hey there. I’m the “author” behind this blog. My blog is about three things: music, running a small tech business, and fatherhood. Why? Well, I’m really passionate about those three things - more than anything else really (except my wife).
But besides the passion, I do have experience with these three things. Hopefully, I can share something valuable from this experience.
Working my list of three things backwards, I became a father in 2006 and now have two kids, but going on three - due June 2. My daughter, Isla, has a congenital heart defect - tetralogy of fallot - that resulted in open heart surgery when she was 6 weeks old. I blog about her progress from time to time here.
One year before I became a Dad, I started my own business after getting laid off from a job I didn’t even get to start … and haven’t looked back. I’ve worked in the tech sector since 1998 for both large and small companies.. My company, Business Bullpen, designs and develops web, mobile, and branding solutions.
Last, but not least, I am a live music junkie. I saw my first show in July of 1988 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Coliseum. It was Robert Plant on the Now & Zen tour with Cheap Trick opening. Led Zeppelin has been and will always be my favorite band of all-time. Seeing Robert Plant for my first concert couldn’t have been more perfect. Since then, I’ve seen hundreds of shows - most of those of the jamband, indie, and classic rock variety. I also worked in the music biz from 2001-2005 for Musictoday. Since then, my own business continues to service clients in the music space. I’m also a big nerd when it comes to the intersection of music and technology.
