I wish Tumblr had gotten together with EX.FM to integrate their service into the search. Despite popular tech opinion, not all of us have or like Spotify. Personally, I prefer Rdio as a streaming service. Nevertheless, my Spotify post on Wednesday will be the last, and I will go back to doing uploads or searching directly from EX.FM and Soundcloud for tunes I wish to post on Tumblr.

Announcing the Candor Tumblr Theme
We are humbled by the overwhelming response from the Tumblr community to our first Tumblr theme, Single A. Thanks to you, we decided to develop and can now announce our first premium Tumblr theme, Candor.
The Candor tumblr theme is a perfect fit for any type of blog. It is great for high res images and videos, includes an exfm player for music bloggers, incorporates TypeKit and Google fonts for bloggers who write long-form posts, and provides a highly visible about area and featured posts section that every blogger can use.
Like Single A, we will be providing email support and looking to you for suggestions on how to improve Candor. Thank you for your continued support!

Very satisfying to get this out.

Love the new Notes counter in the Dashboard. And this is pretty nifty. Expect to reply to many more posts.

Agreed. Nice little touch.

Travelogue Theme
Really happy to announce today that I’ve launched “Travelogue”, a Tumblr theme that has some pretty funky features such as Google Maps integration and a fully responsive layout. It also connects with Instagram, Foursquare, Twitter and Flickr.
See it in action by viewing the demo site.
The design / development of this theme was quite an interesting one. I wasn’t intent on developing another theme before I head overseas late March, but once I had the idea I knew I just had to go through with it.
For some reason developing this theme was fairly smooth sailing, but seemed to take a lot longer to complete than my other themes. Now I’m left with only 3-4 weeks to prepare for living in a another country for 2 years. I think it was worth it.
You can grab the theme from Tumblr’s Theme Garden.
Once again thanks to @adnrw , @sesh and @taitems for giving me feedback on the theme, as well as Anton Tzimas from Happy to Serve You who kindly let me use some of his awesome photos. I better thank Mum too for saying to me “I think you should make another theme, why not one about travelling since that’s what you’re about to do.”

It’s nice to see the originality in this new theme’s feature set, specifically the Google Maps, Instagram, and Foursquare integration. Nicely done.

Tumblr has enabled me build my own personal community. I’ve found more value in seeing strangers become friends rather than adding people I last saw 15 years ago in school as friends.

I’ve been having a fun little spat with a very dear friend of mine about Facebook. I’m off Facebook and he still thinks it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. This quote explains in exact detail why I love Tumblr more than any feature that the platform has introduced and in general what I love about social media.
